My Love of the Stafford began in the UK in the late 50's and early 60's. It is also the origin of BLASTAWAY Kennels My late Father bred Whippets under this name and would never hear of owning Staffords! Late in life before he died he admitted to me that he loved our Buster!!
Our UK neighbors had a lovely red Stafford that one day chased away a Boxer that was harrassing my younger Brother and I, and I never forgot this. He stayed with us the remainder of that day, and that was that. I loved them.
When I got settled in Montana going to University in the mid 70's I couldn't find a Stafford anywhere, but I could find a Colby APBT that descended from Irish Staffords and I loved him. He was an exceptional dog.
My wife Gillian and I married later in life. She was very familiar with Staffords having owned a game little boy herself whilst living in Australia.
Needless to say we now own a few and love them all dearly.
We like to show, but more importantly to us is that the Stafford remains a Stafford. True in temperament and type. This is what we strive for.
